The University is supported by both the State Government of Madhya Pradesh and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The following accreditations have been bestowed upon the University owing to its significant contribution in imparting quality education to young men and women around the nation:

• The University has been incorporated in the Commonwealth Year Book (Volume 3, pp 1740-42, 1990).
• The Executive Committee of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NACC) has accredited a Four Star (****) status to the University.
• The University Grants Commission has selected the University as "Centre Of Excellence" in the areas of e-Governance and e-Management.
• The University was host to an Annual Meet of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and UGC Vice Chancellor's Conference, thus making its place in the national academic scenario. Amongst others, the occasion was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor of the SAARC countries.
